REBAK MARINA

Rebak Marina is a beautiful new marina still under construction.  When it is finished it will include  residential and commercial development as well as the resort and marina We enjoyed the wonderful amenities of the fine docks, the swimming pool, the dining room and of course had to try the Malaysian masseur on the staff.

Maylasian massage Charlie took one look at the masseur and the fact that he spread a mat on the floor instead of the massage table and said, "No way I'm going to get bent around by that guy." Actually as a guinea pig I found that the massage was very good and I went and retrieved Charlie from his nap on the boat and told him he wouldn't want to miss this massage.  This one involved a lot of oil, including getting your head oiled and the masseur measuring your flexibility both before and after he had worked on you.  He wanted me to be able to put my palms flat on the floor which I did not quite accomplish but he wanted Charlie to be able to touch his toes.  Charlie figured out that he was not going to get turned loose until he showed a marked improvement and made a supreme effort so that he could escape the very strong towel swathed fellow.

We hired a young man to start washing the Sea Gem.  We are still working on getting the dirt and grime off from Singapore.  The heavy rains are helping but I believe it will take a total stripping and rewaxing to get all the dirt off.  We have worked on the hull since we have gotten into clean water and the boat is looking better and better.  Maybe by the time we have been in Phuket awhile we will get her all polished up.

We found you can leave a boat in Rebak Marina for a very modest sum and travel knowing that your boat is safe and well protected both from both the human and the natural elements.  Rebak Marina is in Maylasia, it is not so easy to leave your boat in Thailand.  There are all kinds of requirements and rules and  I wish we had known all this before we arrived.

Ern from Pimalo, one of our Millennium Odyssey friends, is the one who guided us into Rebak Marina. Since we left Rebak Marina we have been in company of Que Sera, Sera and Pimalo.  At one of the anchorages we had  Don, Lois, Ern, Chris, Theo and Henny over on Sea Gem for dinner. It was pouring rain so I'm glad we have enough room to all be below and  out of the weather.  The folks on Pimalo are from Luxembourg and most interesting.  They are also doing a web site:www.pimalo.lu. The text is in French but the language of  pictures is universal.
