SEA GEM LOG November 25, 1999
THANKSGIVING Happy Thanksgiving! We are still at dockside in Singapore
awaiting the radar people to come aboard and commission the new radar and hook up the repeater unit in the cockpit. We also have someone coming aboard to try to fix our two inverter/chargers which died Tuesday. We had
planned to leave for Langkawi Tuesday the 23rd but worker delays, and terrific rain and lightning storms further delayed workers (this is the beginning of the monsoon season) are a fact of life here so you might
as well sit back and enjoy it. We plan to have a turkey dinner ashore to celebrate Thanksgiving and leave tomorrow morning which will put us in Langkawi, Maylasia Monday. We're doing great and love modern, cosmopolitan,
Singapore where 3 million people shop every American brand, but we are beginning to get cabin fever. We think of all our family and friends on this holiday and wish we could be together but life is a compromise and this
is something we really wanted to do. Saundra stays busy writing our log and I fixing and getting things on Sea Gem fixed. In between we sightsee and have fun. For your information we have a new phone # that is Singapore
based but is supposed to roam and find us in other countries. The ph. # is (Country Code for Singapore is 65) 9627 0569. Have a good family day. Saundra & Charlie. |
