Kent is one of Charlie's law partners who practices eminent domain and condemnation law. He will be part of the Sea Gem crew for the Panama Canal
transit. When Charlie invited Kent to sail through the canal, Kent jumped at the opportunity to visit what has been called both "the big ditch" and "the
Eighth Wonder of the World". You see, Kent's grandfather, General W.E. "Joe" Potter, was the governor of the Panama Canal Zone from 1956-1960. Joe was widely known for his work as
Senior Vice President of Walt Disney World during the park's initial development in the 1970's.
Kent was born in Nairobi, Kenya and came to Florida at age seven. He attended Edgewater
High School and graduated with honors from Wake Forest University prior to receiving his law degree, with honors, from Stetson. After serving as an extern for United State District
Court Judge Elizabeth Kovachevich and as a judicial law clerk for Judge Paul H. Roney of the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, Kent joined the firm in September of 1991.
Kent is a certified scuba diver who has enjoyed diving and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the Wall off of Grand Cayman island, as well as the reefs and wrecks of
Jamaica, Hawaii, and the Florida Keys. He also recently completed running the Las Vegas Marathon with his wife Chele and law partners Biff and Tracy Marshall.
